INCLUDED IN THE ECOHEADS BOX

The box that your ECOHEADS X comes in has a variety of parts that may or may not be needed for your individual setup. This is intentional to ensure the nozzle will be compatable with most basins across North America.

  • ECOHEADS X Nozzle
  • Swivel Adapter
  • Black Nozzle Holder
  • Heavy Duty Filter
  • Adapter Washers

The standard filter will come installed in the nozzle already. The heavy duty filter is NOT a replacement, but a different filter altogether used in regions where there is a lot of fine sediment in the water. The ECOHEADS filters are designed to be permanent and will not need to be changed, but do need to be cleaned.

Do you need a hose?

If you have a black, plastic, all-in-one hose, where the spray nozzle is built in with the rest of the hose, then yes, you need the ECOHEADS hose.

Most chrome hoses have spray nozzles that can be screwed off of the hose, in which case you do not need a hose!

If your hose has a female end, you will not be able to use the swivel adapter included in the ECOHEADS box. If you'd like to utilize this piece, you will need to purchase the ECOHEADS hose

IS YOUR Basin opening compatable?

If the opening in your basin where your hose feeds through is round rather than square, or not flat and instead rounds up from the basin, you will not be able to use the hose receiver or nozzle holder. This is not essential for the function of the nozzle and many salons opt to omit it during installation.

If you'd prefer to install the black plastic piece and you don't have a flat, round hole to install the holder, you can purchase the conversion plate to adapt your basin.

NOTE: This piece does not come with a holder or vacuum breaker. It is not associated with the vacuum breaker function, but simply changes the shape of the basin opening for the hose.

Installing ECOHEADS X

If you are ready to install your ECOHEADS X, we have a video instruction on how to install. This video does not represent every basin setup, so if this does not look like your unique basin, move forward to the more detailed step-by-step instructions below.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTALLATION STEPS

Follow these instructions if you are using the ECOHEADS hose.

#1 - Unscrew the current hose

Remove the hose from underneath the basin, unscrewing the female end from the male. Pull the hose through the basin opening to completely remove. Clean and dry before proceeding.

#2 - INSTALL ECOHEADS NOZZLE HOLDER

If you do not plan to utilize the black plastic holder included with the ECOHEADS X, you can skip to step #3. If you would like to, but you have a square or bulging opening on the basin that is not compatable with the holder, refer to the section above on what you need to install ECOHEADS. This will show you an example of the conversion plate that will adapt your basin for the holder.

Unscrew the black plastic piece from the nozzle holder. Insert the black nozzle holder through the top of the basin opening and screw on the thread underneath the basin to secure. Do not overtighten.

#3 - SCREW ON ECOHEADS HOSE

Using the washer that came with the ECOHEADS hose in the female end of the hose, screw the ECOHEADS hose onto the male thread underneath your basin. Ensure the washer is installed without obstructing water flow.

The female opening on the ECOHEADS hose is 1/2" which is a standard US fitting. If this is not compatable with your basin, which sometimes happens with a European basin, you can find an adapter online that will convert your thread size to the standard US fitting.

#4 - ATTACH ECOHEADS Nozzle

Insert the washers included in the ECOHEADS box into both ends of the adapter. Thread the hose through the basin opening and holder and screw the male end of the hose onto the ECOHEADS swivel adapter. Screw the other end of the adapter onto the plastic threads of the nozzle. Make sure the washers do not obstruct water flow when attaching.

IMPORTANT: Overtightening the adapter on the nozzle can cause breakage. Tighten until you feel it secure and only 1/4 turn further.

#3 - Adapting with the vacuum breaker

Unscrew the vacuum breaker from the old basin plate, keeping the nuts aside until you complet step two. Once the plate is secured on the basin with the holder attached, insert the vacuum breaker prongs into the two holes next to the holder. secure the nuts onto the two long threads underneath the vacuum breaker. Proceed with installing the ECOHEADS nozzle.

If your basin doesn't have a vacuum breaker, use the small cap that came with the conversion plate and secure with silicone-based glue.

TROUBLESHOOTING INSTALLATION

If your installation didn't go as expected, here is a breakdown of the most common issues. If you still need assistance, please contact our support team for one-on-one assistance.

#1 - My Nozzle does not unscrew from the hose

If you cannot detach your nozzle from the existing hose, you will need to remove the entire piece and replace the hose with the ECOHEADS hose.

#2 - I Can't attach the Swivel Adapter to my hose

If you can unscrew your old nozzle, you will typically be left with a female opening on your hose. This means you can screw the nozzle straight onto the hose, but will not be able to utilize the swivel adapter included with your ECOHEADS X nozzle. If you'd like to use this piece you will need to purchase the ECOHEADS hose which will have a male end to attach to the adapter.

#3 - I can't access the threads under the basin

Installing your ECOHEADS Showerhead shouldn’t require master yogi poses, so if you are struggling to access the area to unscrew your hose we recommend calling a professional plumber. Make sure to keep our support number on hand for the plumber to give us a call if they have any questions.

#4 - The hose doesn't fit the thread on my basin

If you are trying to screw on the ECOHEADS hose to the connection under your basin and they do not match, you will likely need an adapter. This is very common if you have a European basin. You can purchase one directly from this supplier on Amazon.
