We’re so excited to have you as part of the ECOHEADS family. Getting started with ECOHEADS is pretty simple, but a few variables, including your basin brand and make, can impact your installation. Here are some steps that will help you figure out how to approach your installation.
#1 – Your Spray Nozzle is Detachable
Can you unscrew your existing showerhead? If yes, you can simply unscrew your current nozzle from the hose and screw ECOHEADS on. If your hose has a female 1/2 inch hole, you can screw it straight on. If it is a male end, you will need the black metal adapter included in the showerhead box.
If you cannot unscrew the nozzle, move to number two for installing with a hose.
#2 – Your Spray Nozzle is Attached
Around 70% of basins in the US and Canada have a spray nozzle already attached, so you are not alone. You will need the ECOHEADS hose, though. To install, unscrew the hose from underneath the basin using a wrench. Clean and dry the thread and then screw on the female end of the hose. Make sure to use the washers included with the hose and plumbers tape if necessary for a tight seal. Screw the ECOHEADS nozzle onto the other end with the black metal adapter included in the ECOHEADS box.
While most installations are incredibly smooth, your basin may need a little extra TLC. While our advice isn’t a replacement for a professional plumber, we have a few tips that some of our clients have passed on.
This is not a requirement of course, it just will not look as sexy! We have tried to create a universal design, however with the number of different basin’s on the market it does make it hard to please everyone! Typically, the vacuum breakers make it hard to accommodate all the set ups we have in North America.
Yes! Inside every box is a booklet that has the installation and maintenance instructions.
Likely you have an all-in-one hose and so you can either buy a hose locally or purchase one from us. Our hoses fit the majority of US shampoo bowls BUT it isn’t a guarantee so check that the thread you need is a standard US ¼ inch female thread.
Installing your ECOHEADS Showerhead shouldn’t require master yogi poses, so if you are struggling to access the area to unscrew your hose we recommend calling a professional plumber. Make sure to keep our support number on hand for the plumber to give us a call if they have any questions.
